Guides on getting found on Google & building digital

Concrete advice on indexing, Google Business Profile, customer reviews and how a great website brings more customers. From AlbIT.

Most people who get in touch have the same question underneath: why isn't the phone ringing more. The answer is almost never one thing. The site has to be findable, it has to answer what the customer came there to find out, and the enquiry has to reach you once someone sends it.

The order below is the one I work in myself. First the things that leak customers today, the form that never arrives and the call nobody picks up. Those are the cheapest to fix and you notice the difference straight away. Then traffic, ads and search, because buying visitors for a site that loses them is money thrown away. After that the things that hold up over time: hosting, maintenance, and the question of when an app is worth paying for.

The basics sit at the bottom. What a website is supposed to do, how Google finds it, and why the business profile is the free sign most people forget. If you don't know where to start, start there.

I write about work I have done for real clients. If you mostly want to know how your own site is doing, run the checker first and read on from what it finds.
